About the event
Chess Club will once again be meeting on a monthly basis. The club will meet the last Tuesday of the month from 3:15-4:30 PM in the Ministry and Education Center (MEC). Children in grades K-8 are invited to participate. Mr. Chris Sulit will once again be the chess coach. The goals and expectation for the Chess Club are:
Learn and improve chess skills
Practice strategy, critical thinking, problem solving, and sportsmanship
Have fun playing and learning with others
Friendly games with chances of mini-tournaments throughout the year
Respect for others, the equipment, and the learning space
Additional chess boards are needed for this growing club. If you are able and willing to provide a chess board(s), please bring them to the school office as soon as possible.
Volunteer Parents are needed to help support and assist with supervision. Even if you do not know the game of chess, your assistance would still be appreciated; and, maybe you will learn the game! Please contact Mr. Sulit if you have questions and/or are able to help.
